I have a business idea and I want to start it up

I've been working at a boring job for the last 2 years. Im getting sick of working for someone, so I developed this business idea. Is there a place for women who have ideas and need advice on starting up a small business. I've never run a business before so Im totally lost. All I have is an idea, a boyfriend who is volunteering his technology skills (he's going to work on a website and all the databases). I have limited capital but Im starting off very small.
Can anyone refer me to some books, websites that will help me gain confidence and know how?

Need small business loan for new Fashion line

Hello. I am a young new designer of my own line called Candace Blake. Candace Blake is a women’s dress shoe and accessories line that provides nothing but quality and exclusive contemporary styles. I currently have 8 gorgeous pairs of pumps, 5 outstanding pairs of boots and 2 sexy sandals. The shoes have names of attributes to describe a Candace Blake customer. For example, I named a sexy blue metallic leather pair of boots, Diva and a black suede Mary Jane with a metallic silver leather strap, Grace. My prices will range from $200 - $500. By the end of 2005, I plan to design handbags and by 2006, I will design belts, hats, and other accessories

Women business owner in need of support...

I opened a boutique about 2 years ago, and it's so difficult to figure out how to run my business in a profitable way that feels right to me. i really feel like i would be much happier if i had a partner, or if it was a co-op, but i've had a difficult time finding people who are just as interested as they are financially stable. any ideas on where to find some good candidates? i really would love to keep my store going, as i feel like small locally owned shops are so important to new york, but people can be so closed minded and i'm only one person working as hard as i can to get the word out
